Growing up in Lubbock was a great experience for me. I enjoyed activities such as farming and ranching with my family, as well as competing in tennis and baseball. These life experiences helped set my foundation for growth at Texas Tech University. My passion for artistic creativity and building relationships led me to Dallas, where I pursued a doctorate degree at Baylor College of Dentistry.
After graduating from dental school I was blessed to spend one year training in advanced dental techniques at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. This time allowed me to gain invaluable experience treating complicated cases, medically compromised patients and providing IV sedation dentistry.
Since returning to Lubbock, I am honored to work with a dental team that shares my vision and desire to provide the highest level of care. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to serve hundreds of people by providing surgery services as a clinical instructor at UMC Hospital.
With an oral examination and x-rays of the mouth, Dr. Simek can evaluate the position of the wisdom teeth and predict if there are present or future potential problems. Studies have shown that early evaluation and treatment result in a superior outcome for the patient. Patients are generally first evaluated in the mid-teenage years by their dentist, orthodontist, or by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dental implants are tiny titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. Just like the root of a natural tooth, the implant bonds with the jawbone, creating a strong, sturdy foundation for replacement teeth.
Once the post is placed, the crown (visible tooth) can be attached to the implant, recreating the natural structure and functionality of the original tooth.
Over the years, multiple procedures and prosthetics have been developed to replicate missing teeth, but none have been more successful than Dental Implants.
Dentures and bridges are common due to their low upfront cost, but may not be a good value considering maintenance and replacement costs over time. Dental Implants are designed to last a lifetime and provide superior comfort compared to other tooth replacement options.
